Yes, there is a difference. Rest is when we intentionally take time out from our busy lives to recharge and refocus. It is a state of inactivity,
It is a lost art to be able to sit and be idle.
To allow your mind to get bored and wander.
We have placed so much value on ‘doing’ (thanks hustle culture!), that we feel taking time out to rest is a waste of time. Time that can be used to be more ‘productive’.
We often push ourselves to our limits, trying to get more done in less time. Only to end up feeling exhausted and depleted.
Our stress builds up, health suffers, and we can’t sleep.
Rinse. Repeat.
